Essential Job Duties	Provide research, lab management, and administrative support to the faculty supervisor that also supports the efforts of the research team. Carry out specific projects related to improving laboratory organization and operations, such as organizing and writing standard operating procedures for enzyme assays and other methods, organizing and establishing feasible practices for maintaining logbooks and equipment instructions, improving lab supplies inventory and ordering procedures, and improving lab space utilization, using online shared systems whenever possible and developing related training modules and posted instructions. Support specific research projects by performing chemistry and biochemistry-related laboratory experiments independently or in collaboration with other team members, preparing samples for evaluation, establishing new methods, documenting findings, analyzing data, preparing reports, making presentations and participating in research meetings. Assist the faculty supervisor in collecting data for and preparing summaries and reports of broader research efforts that involve cross-functional team members. Assist with preparing for and conducting project meetings, website updates and other tasks assigned by the faculty supervisor. Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with research team members to maintain a productive and enjoyable work environment.

Requirements and Preferences

Work Schedule	An approximate work schedule Monday through Friday 10am-4pm and can be adjusted in agreement between the temporary employee and supervisor
Other Work/Responsibilities
Minimum Experience/Education	At least 5 years of professional experience in industrial or academic R&D, with at least 3 years laboratory experience with enzymes, enzyme assays and enzyme applications. At least 3 years of experience working in a laboratory environment operating under ISO 9001 or similar quality certification. Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures and managing laboratory workflows.
Department Required Skills	Experience with project management. PC literate with proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, presentation preparation, virtual meetings, shared virtual workspaces, and email. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
