Position Accountabilities



  1. To prepare complete and accurate account analysis and general ledger account reconciliations for critical and subjective accounting areas of the organization fully supported by appropriate evidence and supporting documentation.
  2. Responsible for the analysis and recording of complex transactions, typically associated with advanced accounting, such as new guidance for contributions and grants, expense and revenue related to insurance products premium, leases, related debt and liabilities.
  3. Responsible for performing accounting production processes, including month-end and year-end close.
  4. Performs research as assigned, tracing issues to their source. Effectively summarizes and communicates research findings to the Assistant Controller (or other designated task/project lead) and assists with the implementing solutions.
  5. Provides support to the Assistant Controller (or other designated task/project lead) during the preliminary and annual audit requests and inquiries from external auditors.
  6. Takes ownership, and initiative and demonstrates leadership in assigned tasks and projects. Capable of working with multiple areas of the organization in requesting or exchanging information.
  7. Assists the Assistant Controller and other internal clients as needed. Initiates communication and collaboration with various stakeholders on the organization. This individual is a member of a team and reports to the Assistant Controller or designated task/project lead on the team.
  8. Proactively evaluates accounting processes and systems and contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of procedures, process, and internal controls.
  9. Create SOP and job aids when required to document processes and tasks.


Position Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience in accounting role; public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge applying US GAAP to business transactions.
  • Ability to accurately apply accounting principles/practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership and urgency.
  • The candidate should be able to work with moderate or minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to work with multiple data sources, summarize and synthetize.
  • Must be able to solve problems and complete assignments with minimal guidance in the time allotted.
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP and other advanced formulas.
  • Detail oriented and organized, with solid time management, business writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, organize and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and dependable team player, willing focus and commitment to get the work done.
