Your Impact

Work in a research-oriented product development environment where engineers are dedicated to solving customer problems in an innovative and efficient manner. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and be passionate about using technology to solve complex problems and deliver products and features that make a positive difference to our customers. This role will be responsible for the design, development, and support of hardware products for our Forensic Equipment product line. OpenText Forensic Equipment products are custom, dedicated purpose, embedded electronic hardware systems that are used to triage, acquire, and analyze digital evidence in a wide array of investigative environments, including law enforcement and enterprise.

What the role offers

As a Hardware Engineer, you will:

  • Design embedded computer systems including architecture, schematic capture, BoMs, and PCB layout.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and software engineers to align hardware designs with system requirements, plan project work, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and execute detailed verification test plans to meet functional, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, including EOL component replacements and bug fixes.
  • Manage hardware changes through formal product lifecycle management tools/processes and maintain accurate product documentation.
  • Research customer needs and evolving technologies to create innovative new solutions.
  • Maintain test equipment.

What you need to Succeed

  • Strong understanding of computer architectures, microprocessors, and peripheral/memory subsystems.
  • Proficiency in schematic and PCB design using modern CAD tools; knowledge of signal integrity, timing, and thermal measurement/analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum of two years of experience in electronic product design.
  • Familiarity with common digital media interface technologies (USB, PCIe, Thunderbolt, SAS, SATA) and analog power distribution design concepts.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, component lifecycle analysis, and awareness of compliance standards (RoHS, REACH, CE, FCC).
  • Self-motivation with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex, competing tasks in a fast-paced design environment.
  • 2-5 years of previous professional experience.
