Position Summary:
Travere is seeking a passionate, community-connected Rare Kidney Disease (RKD) Educator to play a pivotal role in educating and empowering underserved communities most impacted by Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and IgA Nephropathy (IgAN). The RKD Educator will work in the field to lead and support patient education, disease awareness, and connect patients to resources. As an RKD Educator you will build disease awareness and care access for FSGS and IgAN patients in at-risk communities; deliver education to frontline healthcare providers and dialysis center teams; facilitate patient access to resources, support, and trusted information; and forge meaningful partnerships with advocacy groups and local stakeholders. This role sits within the Commercial organization reporting to the Sr. Director, Business Planning and works in close alignment with Patient Advocacy, and our cross functional partners in commercial, access and medical affairs.

Responsibilities:

Patient & HCP Education
* Deliver patient education on rare kidney disease (FSGS and IgAN) and facilitate connections to patient advocacy and support groups
* Provide disease awareness education to nurses, NPs/PAs, pharmacists, dialysis center staff, case managers, and social workers
* Conduct or coordinate speaker-led educational sessions for healthcare teams and community groups

Community Connection & Advocacy Collaboration
* Help identify undiagnosed or misdiagnosed FSGS cases by increasing disease awareness
* Build bridges between community-based nephrologists, primary care, and rural practices
* Collaborate with Travere Rare Kidney Community Patient Activators (RKCPA) to support and amplify patient voices
* Partner with groups like NephCure, BlackHealthMatters.com, the American Kidney Fund, and the Kidney Health Initiative

Strategic Field Collaboration
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Patient Advocacy, Commercial, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to align on patient and provider needs
* Support field strategy by identifying opportunities to raise disease awareness, surface insights, and enable access to underserved or hard-to-reach accounts
* Provide feedback from the field on barriers to care, educational gaps, and community needs to help inform strategic planning and resource deployment

Education/Experience Requirements:

We are seeking healthcare professionals with clinical and community credibility, passion for equity in care, and a deep commitment to patient empowerment.

Required:
* RN, NP/PA, PharmD or similar healthcare credential. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
* Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Proven experience delivering health education or community outreach.
* Deep ties or lived experience with underserved communities (e.g., Black, Latinx, rural, socio-economically or medically disenfranchised populations)
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Understanding of cultural humility and health disparities

Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements:

* Experience in nephrology, rare diseases, or community-based care
* Bilingual or multilingual capabilities preferred.
* Existing relationships with dialysis centers or nephrology practices.
* Well, organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
* Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
* Ability to adapt to modification and changes to project plans, demonstrating flexibility to implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes.
* Ability to travel 60% domestically.
* The ability to perform face to face work with customers, colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego, and the ability to satisfactorily meet credentialling requirements for access to healthcare facilities and customer sites within your territory on an ongoing basis, are essential job functions of this position.

Target Base Pay Range:

$146,000.00 - $190,000.00
