Overview

The Global Supply Chain Summer Intern will work as a member of the Customer Fulfillment team to manage the daily reporting for all Logistics and Customer Service needs as well as assist in the day-to-day operations. The Global Supply Chain Summer Intern will monitor and report on carrier KPIs and weekly/monthly metrics.

The ASR internship provides comprehensive experience in both logistics and customer service, allowing the intern to develop a robust skill set in monitoring, reporting, and operational support. By working closely with various departments, the intern will gain valuable insights into the complex logistics operations and customer service metrics, preparing them for a future career in these fields. This role not only enhances technical abilities but also fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, making it an invaluable opportunity for any aspiring professional in the logistics and customer service industries.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities


Logistics Operations Support:


  • Assist the Logistics Operations team in the daily execution of packaged prepaid transportation



  • Engage in load creation processes, load tendering, and dispatch console monitoring



  • Utilize SAP and TMS to track errors in shipments



  • Daily tracking of shipments across all refineries and outside warehouse locations



  • Monitor timely load closures in the TMS to assist the Freightpay team with the billing process



  • Conduct Spot Rate bids for new lanes or expedited loads



  • Monitor and report on carrier on-time metrics



  • Work with all teams within Corporate Logistics to gain a working knowledge of all facets of the team, including Freightpay, Rail Operations, International Operations, Procurement, Pricing, etc.



  • Assist the Logistics team with special supporting projects throughout the duration of the internship




Customer Service Support


  • Assist the US Customer Service organization with the daily review of reports and PowerBI



  • Review PowerBI reports with Supervisors daily to gain knowledge of lagging indicators of Customer Service Metrics in PowerBI



  • Work to identify trends in Returns by Location, Past Due Collect by Plant, and assist in providing feedback on quarterly data trends



  • Assist in creating weekly updates for App Space based on CS Performance and Trends



  • Train on ticket response in CIM for BOL, COA, and order updates (all view-only transaction capability in SAP)





Education Requirements



  • Must be currently enrolled undergraduate student at an accredited college or university
  • Work experience or relevant coursework in Supply Chain or Business is preferred
