DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Complies with DOT and OSHA health, safety and environmental requirements and follows safety philosophy and procedures developed by the Company including: applicable environmental, health and safety rules, procedures, and accepted safe work practices, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems, and the reporting of workplace hazards and injury or illness arising from workplace activities; observes the workplace to identify conditions or behaviors that should be corrected and takes appropriate action. 2. Assists Payroll & HRIS Specialist with payroll administration including review of hourly and salaried timesheets for accuracy, computation of wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording of ongoing or one-time payroll earnings and deductions, pre-processing and post-processing review, validation, and reporting requirements. 3. Processes off-cycle hourly and salaried payroll for applicable earnings and deductions. 4. Assists with the monitoring, auditing, and updating of information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and employee timekeeping systems to ensure proper interface with benefits and payroll functions. 5. Serves as the backup for the Payroll & HRIS Specialist for payroll administration functions. 6. Serves as the backup for the HR & Corporate Services Coordinator for office services support and administration. 7. Calculates benefit premium payments, reviews accuracy of billing, and prepares payment requests to vendors, insurance companies, and other benefit service providers. 8. Administers safety related incentive awards for distribution and manages escrow balance funding with Company vendor. 9. Administers the Company's Safety & Service Award Programs. Maintains employee data to identify potential annual award recipients, creates award letters & certificates and manages escrow balance funding with Company vendor. 10. Administers the Company's Spot Award program distributes and communicates departmental budgets, works with IT on any technical issues, upgrades, or improvements to the online portal, assists employees with card replacement and technical issues, and manages escrow balance funding with company vendor. 11. Assists with coordinating and preparing job fair and benefits/wellness fair information and giveaways. 12. Assists with researching and implementing STEM initiatives in support of the Company's intern and job shadowing programs. 13. Processes semi-annual (January and June) motor vehicle record reports for Talent Management Consultant to ensure compliance with Company policy and Department of Transportation regulations. 14. Maintains records of Operator Qualification (OQ) program training by updating ISNetworld with training completion records and details. 15. Serves as back-up to Organizational Development Manager in the preparation of reports on training related activities and analyses. 16. Assists HR & Corporate Services Coordinator with the Company's annual United Way campaign. REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience * An associate's degree in business or related field or equivalent in experience and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in business requiring significant degrees of contact with other employees and demonstrated ability to work with confidential information is required.
