Job Description

Great opportunity for Veterans!

    Pay rate: $22.05 / hour.
  • Location: Downtown, Salt Lake City.
  • Shift: Saturdays - Sundays Part Time.

Highlights:

  • Previous military, law enforcement, or security experience prefered.
  • Professional and customer serivce oriented demeanor needed.
  • High level of comfort with technology and software necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations.
  • Contacts the Local Security Account Manager or Security Control Center immediately in the event of an incident or emergency.
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of all site or core safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Participates in drills, testing, and trainings.
  • Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious person(s) and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront and monitor violators, as required, until police arrive.
  • Patrols the assigned areas to ensure personnel, building, and equipment are secure and not at risk.
  • Examines doors, windows, lights, temperatures, server rooms, pantries, and stairwells to ensure security; uses client keys/cards to open and close doors; monitors closed office space for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities.
  • Provides escorts as necessary.
  • May provide specialized security in complex operational areas, requiring specific knowledge of the operating environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Prior law enforcment or military experience is strongly encouraged.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software, alarm monitoring, access control methods, and CCTV operations.
  • Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others, including in fast-paced working environments or situations.
  • Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.
  • Understands the Use of Force policy and follow it strictly.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform audits as necessary.
  • Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Skilled in operating portable radio devices
  • Must pay close attention to details.
  • Patrols the assigned areas to ensure personnel, building, and equipment are secure and not at risk.
  • Assist with badge/ID credentialing, photo-taking, and access card provisioning.
