Job Summary:

This position will be a member of the Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) team within the Cancer Center Administration Office. The CRTEC Manager will be responsible for providing program management to the Cancer Center CRTEC team. The University of Colorado Cancer Center's vision is to Prevent and conquer cancer. Together. This role and the CRTEC team are vital to the Center achieving its vision. Key Responsibilities: Program Management: 60%
- Overseeing the coordination CRTEC research training and education programs and activities
- Evaluating CRTEC research training and education programs and activities
- Implementing strategic education and training initiatives as an NCI-designated cancer center
- Providing constructive and forward-thinking leadership for the direction and management of the UCCC's education administration
- Planning future-focused activities to facilitate the long-term strategic mix of training and research activities within CRTEC
- Establishing relationships with the community
- Creating and collecting metrics
- Preparing presentations and reports
- Represent UCCC CRTEC at national trainee recruitment conferences such as SACNAS and ABRCMS
- Oversee the coordination of staff and scholar travel to national training related conferences such as SACNAS and ABRCMS
- Engage institutional partners, where appropriate, with regards to program implementation
Staff Supervision: 20%
- Daily supervision of CRTEC Program Coordinators
- In collaboration with the CRTEC Associate and Assistant Directors carry-out annual performance evaluation of CRTEC Program Coordinators
Grant, Procurement and Finance: 20%
- Directing and being accountable for the development and submission of training and education grants and contracts
- Collaborating with the CRTEC Associate and Assistant Directors in preparing and managing the budgets of the CRTEC portfolio of grants, programs and other initiatives

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biological or Social Sciences, Health or Public Administration, Public Health, business or related fields
- Five (5) years' experience in higher education, post-baccalaureate training, or administrative leadership in an academic environment
- Minimum of 2 years of formal supervisory experience
Substitution Professional-level experience in a related field can be substituted for the degree on a year-to-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of application. Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters or PhD degree in Biological or Social Sciences, Health or Public Administration, Public Health, business or related fields
- Experience in managing extramurally sponsored education programs and/or training grants
- Successful grant writing experience (led the effort, or was a part of a team that prepared, submitted and/or received an education, research or community service-based grant)
- Successfully served as key personnel on a training and/or education grants
- Track record of quality mentoring as demonstrated by successful outcomes, graduation, prestigious award, acceptance to graduate or clinical program, publication, invitation to speak at a national conference, or awarded competitive grant
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, accepted theories, practices and principles of general management and administration
- Ability to evaluate, analyze, and interpret various types of data related to tracking trainees and surveys; leverage the data to assess needs and gaps within the program and recommend appropriate courses of action to address the gaps; recommend modifications to trainees' individualized development plans to enhance career development; and help implement the preferred course of action
- Ability to communicate with various constituencies to engender trust and credibility necessary to further the training and education mission of the UCCC
- Ability to plan, organize, implement and coordinate program activities and manage projects so they are on-time and within budget
- High degree of professionalism and organization
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to direct and lead a team
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs and other analytical programs and administrative programs

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $66,201-$84,208. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
