Research Finance Manager - Adult / Geriatric Psychiatry Division

Description

The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Admin Officer 3 who will complete the duties of Adult/Geriatric Division Research and Financial Business Manager. In this role you will lead and direct all research / educational operations for 3 growing separate entities: Adult Psychiatry Division, Geriatric Psychiatry Division and Longevity wellness / educational Center.

Key responsibilities:

  • Pre-and post-award activities oversight
  • Personnel and financial oversight
  • Supervision of research admin staff
  • Compliance with university and agency regulations.
This critical leadership role will work as key member of the Divisions' executive team and will be responsible for the creation of a dedicated business unit to streamline and consolidate operations and maximize financial, personnel and operational resources geared to research faculty and staff; labs, sales and service programs including licensing.

Pay Range: $76,200.00 - $158,800.00 annually

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior supervisory experience or serving in a lead capacity
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, including ability to work independently, determine appropriate priorities, and complete projects accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of attention to detail, despite competing deadlines.
  • Analytical skills sufficient to interpret and apply University and campus policies; define problems; formulate logical conclusions, recognize alternatives.
  • Strong written skills to prepare accurate, concise, and clear reports and documents.
  • Advanced expertise using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database management and timekeeping software.
  • Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality

Preferred:

  • Strong demonstrated leadership, management, and supervisory skills to effectively train and guide staff at all levels, delegate tasks, set performance standards, and evaluate performance.
  • Knowledge of academic and/or administrative structure of institutions of higher education.
