What You Can Expect Working in the Inventory Specialist Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely receiving, storage, and disbursement of materials, tools, equipment, and products for the shop team.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through frequent cycle counts and make inventory adjustments as required.
  • Investigate reasons for adjustments to prevent future inaccuracies
  • Pull and deliver the required material to the respective production location as required.
  • Provide superior service to "counter customers" and perform proper record keeping
  • Upon receipt of materials, inspect the shipment to verify all materials match the purchase order/packing list.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and professional-looking storeroom and ensure proper storage of materials in their designated areas.
  • Work in a safe manner following all company safety procedures
  • Properly package materials for outbound shipments to prevent damage.
  • Other duties required by management; involving cross training in other departments
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ months of inventory control experience, including cycle count
  • Experience and ability to use a computerized inventory system (Sage JobOps)
  • Excellent communication skills with manufacturing workers, the purchasing department, and outside vendors.
  • Organizational skills and require minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic inventory procedures and math calculations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DOT medical Examiner's Certificate [Medical Card]
  • Experience with Sage JobOps.
