This role will be reporting to our North Region Human Resources Director. This position will be based out of our LaserFlex North location in Hilliard, Ohio. As an HR Generalist at Ryerson, you will be responsible for supporting managers with employee' relations issues and providing guidance on employee matters. We are looking for an individual who will demonstrate the highest level of ethics and integrity while being able to prioritize changing demands. • Assist with talent management initiatives, including but not limited to succession planning, talent review meetings, and identification of key talent for assignment to career growth roles
• Conduct investigations of moderate complexity, make recommendations for corrective action as needed. Support and contribute to investigations of larger, more complex scope
• Coach managers on matters of employment-related compliance & "managing within the law," i.e. EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA etc
• Identify need/opportunity for developmental training, make recommendations for and engage with inside or outside resources as needed
• Preview employment actions to identify and mitigate risk before decisions are made.
• Support restructuring efforts as needed, identifying exposure and making fact-based recommendations for adjustments to re-org proposals
• Supports change efforts in support of business strategy
• Assist with benefit questions and administration as applicable
• Assist with staffing and recruitment efforts

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred
• 3 to 5 years of solid experience in a Human Resource generalist role supporting multiple locations, including HRIS, employee relations, and benefits administration
• Solid understanding of HR related legislation and regulations, specifically for the state of California Required
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with ADP and SAP is preferred
• Keen attention to detail, strong time management skills, strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsand an ability to process administrative responsibilities in an efficient manner
• High level of experience in maintaining and exercising discretion in the handling of confidential information
• Ability to thrive in a team environment, as well as self-motivated to work independently in a fast paced environment; ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, set schedules, and meet deadlines
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% across the USA is expected
