Environmental Laboratory Analyst Location: 3226 Commander Dr, Carrollton, TX 75006 Reports To: Lab Manager Office Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Overtime required as needed) Pay Range: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience At Alliance Technical Group, we're dedicated to providing exceptional environmental testing services in a collaborative and innovative work environment. - Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1-2 years in an analytical or environmental laboratory.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with ion chromatography (Chromeleon software), gas chromatography (PeakSimple software), ISE (Fluoride), and pH meters preferred.
- Knowledge of NELAC/NELAP standards is a plus.
- Some MS Excel experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Management and Analysis:
- Approve, log, and process air samples, including PM samples, M26/M26A, M6/8, M18, and M13B (in development).
- Perform analyses using ICS 1100 systems, SRI GC, Orion fluoride meter, and Oakton pH meter.
- Maintain proper documentation and chain of custody (COC) for all samples.
- Data Integrity and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all analyses, reagents, and preparations to ensure data accuracy.
- Document all QC data directly on forms, as the Dallas Lab does not use a LIMS system.
- Compile and report results in line with EPA and NELAC standards.
- Instrument Maintenance and Calibration:
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab instruments.
- While not required, candidates with troubleshooting skills are highly valued.
- Independent Workflow with Collaborative Updates:
- Work independently to manage daily tasks and project progress.
- Provide regular updates to the Lab Manager for seamless tag-out/tag-in transitions.
- Other Duties:
- Prepare reagents and media for lab and field use.
- Ensure compliance with lab safety standards and protocols.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Daily Workflow and Sample Types
- Sample Types: Primarily air samples from stack tests, including PM, M26/M26A, M6/8, and M18.
- Volume: Current daily volume ranges from 0-5 samples, with potential growth to 10-15 samples.
- Quality Control: Built directly into lab forms to ensure thorough documentation and compliance.

- Career Path: Growth potential includes promotion to Analyst II, Assistant Manager, or roles in QC/QA or Tech Services.

Work Environment
- Physical Requirements: Standing for extended periods, with anti-fatigue mats provided. Heavy lifting is not required.
- Safety Equipment: Lab coats, safety glasses, gloves, fume hoods, face shields, and spill kits provided. Weekly safety shower tests ensure a safe work environment.
- Team Structure: This role is part of a two-person team, reporting directly to the Lab Manager.
