Position Title: Fabricator/Machine Operator
Wage: $22.50-$24.50/hour Shift: 1st, 2nd Hours: 6am-3pm, 3pm-1am Work for a company where employees don't just contribute - they own. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Fabricator/Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Read job specifications from shop drawings or blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements - Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, jig, or template - Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction - Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation - Stack, mark, and pack finished work pieces - Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dyes, or work pieces - Lift objects by hand, or with a power hoist/crane, or forklift Fabricator/Machine Operator Requirements: - 2-year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Read and understand shop drawings or prints - Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals - Ability to perform basic calculations using a calculator - Read and use tape measure - Basic computer skills in a windows environment/ERP system - Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds when turning parts over, dependent on the part being handled - Specific vision abilities include color vision, and ability to adjust focus - Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, bending, pulling, and extended periods of standing - Must wear OSHA approved safety shoes with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and grinding and/or cutting shield when using grinder or power cutters QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
