Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Database Administrator Intern to assist our team in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our databases. As an intern, you will learn and apply concepts about database management systems, working under the supervision of a senior Database Administrator. Your responsibilities will include helping to guarantee that data remains consistent across the database, data is clearly defined, and users access data concurrently in a form that suits their needs.

    Assist in managing database structure and code to ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
  • Participate in data migration, transformation, and scripting tasks.
  • Support in preparation of documentations and specifications.
  • Help in handling common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining database security and encryption.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, etc.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to understand and meet business requirements.
  • Learn and implement backup and recovery procedures.
  • Help in updating and managing database documentation.
  • Support the database design process and create database diagrams.
  • Participate in the testing of database applications to ensure functionality.
  • Assist in data migration and data cleansing projects.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of database management systems (DBMS).
  • Familiarity with SQL and database querying.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
