Job Title: Motor Pool Mechanic

Department: Maintenance

Location: High Bridge, NJ

Summary

Perform a wide range of maintenance and mechanical repair activities on vehicles and equipment. Activities require experience in preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and taking appropriate corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend repair manuals.
  • Comply with company safety requirements at all times.
  • Assist other departments to complete work orders.
  • Conduct all assignments as delegated by the supervisor or designee with assigned timeframe.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Detail and safety oriented.
  • Communicate issues, concerns, and conflicts clearly and respectfully through proper channels.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repair techniques for a variety of motorized equipment to include gas and diesel engines.
  • Ability to complete and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Basic knowledge of welding and ability to prefabricate parts.
  • Ability to operate, install, build, and repair equipment and machinery.
  • Experienced troubleshooter, able to troubleshoot problems to prevent major breakdowns.
  • Operate lift trucks, scissor, and bucket lifts.
  • Professional Certification a plus.
  • High school, trade school or combination of training and experience in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of automotive, medium/heavy duty trucks.
  • Clean driver's license, CDL license is a plus.
  • Bilingual a plus.
