Job Summary

The Nurse Coordinator for Lung Transplant Program(s) provides direct care to patients with multiple, often complicated acute and chronic medical problems. The Nurse Coordinator is the primary point for the program in all phases of the transplant process and works closely with the multidisciplinary transplant team and multiple UCSF departments. The primary responsibilities (as assigned) of the Nurse Coordinator will be to coordinate pre-transplant services to evaluate candidacy for advanced therapies, coordinate follow-up patient care both pre- and post-transplantation and provide ongoing patient and support education throughout all phases of transplantation in both the inpatient and/or outpatient setting.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $91.20 - $118.34 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Master's degree and at least one (1) year of adult solid organ transplant nursing employment experience as an outpatient/inpatient Transplant Coordinator (or) Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of adult solid organ transplant nursing employment experience as an outpatient/inpatient Transplant Coordinator (or) AD/Diploma degree and at least five (5) years of adult solid organ transplant nursing employment experience as an outpatient/inpatient Transplant Coordinator
  • Working knowledge of immunosuppressive therapies and management of end stage organ failure patients
  • Strong MS Office computer skills (word, excel, power point), databases
  • Excellent organizational skills, proficiency in meeting deadlines, ability to work independently, prioritize workload and manage numerous concurrent tasks in high stress environment
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations

Preferred Qualifications


  • Working knowledge in assessing advanced heart failure/cardiac and/or pulmonary disease
  • Clinical competency in managing transplant candidates/recipients

License/Certification


  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
