The opportunity

During the summer months, Conference and Event Services provides housing in our residence halls and apartments to a wide variety of conference groups such as: academic and educational workshops, religious groups, and corporations. The office also hosts several day conferences and meetings.

Summer staff provide front-line quality service to guests staying in the conference housing areas. Custodial Services is an integral part of the Summer Programs team and are paramount to the success of summer programs at Southern New Hampshire University.

What You'll Do:

The position entails the behind-the-scenes operations that create a seamless, customer-focused operation, helping present Southern New Hampshire University as a hospitable institution. The role involves physical facilities-related, and logistical tasks to support summer operations, including essential housekeeping functions:

  • Perform general housekeeping duties including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning dormitories, hallways, and bathrooms.
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and held to SNHU housekeeping standards.
  • Make beds and/or change bed sheets.
  • Turn in all items left in guests' rooms in a timely manner. Report any missing items.
  • Remove garbage and properly dispose of discarded materials.
  • Assist with mid-week linen and bathroom refreshes.
  • Notify supervisor of any damage, deficits or disturbances.
  • Work independently as well as in collaboration with a team of housekeepers on your shift.
  • Monitor and maintain a high level of safe and sanitary working conditions.
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any university related practices. Use appropriate safety equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as required.
  • Professionally represent the offices of Facilities Management and Conference and Event Services.

What We're Looking For:

  • Be a registered student at SNHU for Spring Semester 2025 and be registered for classes for either Fall Semester 2025 or Summer 2025.
  • There will be a required orientation session during spring semester to meet fellow staff members, supervisors, and cover some basic expectations and orientation materials.
  • Be available to work 10 hours per week.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
