Overview The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program Manager. The AMI Program Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the Meter-to-Cash (MTC) process in alignment with the utility's Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. This position plays a central role in ensuring seamless collaboration between MTC operations, customer service, field operations, and IT. The role is focused on improving metering processes, billing accuracy, operational reporting, supporting real-time data insights of water usage, and enhancing customer satisfaction through AMI data utilization and delivery. - Manage and optimize the metering lifecycle including acting as a Center of Expertise (CoE) for advanced metering infrastructure, data and processes standardization, operations support, and meter vendor relations.
- Ensure the proper functioning of metering systems, data and reporting, and address any operational issues with metering infrastructure.
- Establish clear protocols for meter infrastructure and data integrations, and streamline operations and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain protocols using AMI data for resolving exceptions, billing errors, and account disputes and define procedures for escalating unresolved issues to higher management.
- Utilize AMI systems to provide real-time data on water usage, which helps both teams to make informed decisions and provides proactive system and customer meter monitoring.
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure effective integration of advanced metering infrastructure to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
- Serve as liaison between MTC functions and operational teams to align service delivery goals.
- Coordinate with customer service teams to resolve inquiries quickly and with high satisfaction.
- Utilize meter and customer portal software to manage data, generate reports, and facilitate communication between teams.
What You'll Bring Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in utility billing, metering, or operations.
- Experience managing AMI systems and/or meter-to-cash processes in a water or energy utility preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of meter device and software, utility operations, billing systems, and revenue cycle management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive performance improvements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and issue resolution skills.
- Familiarity with AMI vendors, platforms, meter data management systems, and data analytics tools.
Work Environment
- Light to moderate levels of physical activity on an occasional to regular basis.
- Majority of time spent working indoors, under normal office conditions.
