Job Description

Job Summary: The Software Developer and QA Specialist will develop game and platform support applications and manage the Quality Assurance program for Great Wolf Resorts' internal branded attractions, including MagiQuest and other Great Wolf IP.The Creative Kingdoms team is Great Wolf Resorts' internal attractions development and operations group. MagiQuest is Great Wolf Resorts' brand-exclusive live-action gaming attraction, which is installed at all locations. The attraction combines real-time videogame technology with electronic, mechanical, and themed elements, plus a proprietary software and hardware platform.This is a Full-Time Salaried Position.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within our existing game application codebase and Unity projects to maintain and expand upon our current game and support applications
  • Develop new Unity applications with a focus on front-end and UI development
  • Create and execute test plans for applications and the platform API
  • Use manual and automated testing methods to reproduce and analyze reported issues
  • Implement and run software unit testing.
  • Submit bug/issue details to our sprint boards and assign corrective tasks accordingly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work and coordinate closely with the Software Engineer and Technical Designer during application/system development and maintenance.
  • Set up, configure, and optimize hardware and operating systems (including, but not limited to Windows, Android, and Apple) for our applications.
  • On-site installation support, ability, and willingness to travel if needed.
  • Research and development of additional hardware components to be integrated into CK attractions.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience programming in an industry-standard language (C++, C#, Java).
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in software development quality assurance.
  • Experience writing test cases and submitting test reports.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodology.
  • Experience using agile development software such as Microsoft Azure or Jira.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with a small team.
  • Detail oriented, very organized, and the ability to adapt as required to changes in project needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the gaming industry.
  • Experience working in Unity 3D.

Estimated Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 annual base salary

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Great Wolf's total compensation package. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and other perks.
