Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Consultants in Cardiology Location: Farmington Hills, Novi, Southfield Department: Consultants in Cardiology Inpatient/Outpatient: 2/3 Inpatient and 1/3 outpatient. Case Load: 99% adult, 1% 16-18 year olds. Position Overview: Ascension Medical Group Michigan is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiology team as a full-time Consultant. This dynamic role involves rotating between outpatient offices in Novi and Farmington Hills, as well as hospital settings at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield and Novi. The provider will care for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients, independently and in collaboration with cardiologists, in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Key responsibilities include medication and lab management, conducting surgical clearances, and providing comprehensive cardiac care across a variety of clinical settings. Schedule - Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts, days. Weekend requirement - No. Call requirement - No. OR Time - No. In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.| Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.| Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.| Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Licensure / Certification / Registration: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: 1-2 years of recent and relevant work experience as a Certified Nurse Practitioner with 1st Assistant in the OR in Neurosurgery or Orthopedic Spine Surgery. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required by * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
