Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Sr. Administrative Assistant!

About the role

We're looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior Administrative Assistant to support an SVP of Sales, Distribution & Marketing, and VP & Chief Underwriter and their respective teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipates needs, and brings a high level of professionalism to every interaction.

What you will do



  • Executive Support: Manage complex calendars, schedule and prepare for meetings and presentations, make travel arrangements, and handle expense reporting and reconciliation.
  • Meeting Coordination: Resolve scheduling conflicts, communicate updates to attendees, and coordinate logistics for both internal and external meetings.
  • Office & Event Support: Arrange conference rooms, coordinate A/V needs, coordinate meeting materials, organize catering and supplies for meetings at our Bellevue office.
  • Presentation & Document Prep: Prepare polished PowerPoint presentations, meeting agendas, and other materials as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with shared services, and administrative colleagues across the organization to support departmental needs and cross-functional meetings.

Compensation

Salary Range: $23.92-$39.85 hourly plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:



  • You have a high school diploma (required); a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • You bring 3+ years of experience supporting executives or senior leaders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You're highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and PowerPoint. You have strong foundational PowerPoint skills and a desire to continue sharpening and evolving them to create high-impact presentations.
  • You're highly organized, detail-oriented, and intentional with how you structure your day-someone who thrives on keeping things running smoothly.
  • You're proactive and resourceful, able to anticipate needs before they arise and follow through with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment and discretion, maintaining a high level of integrity, especially when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Your communication skills-both written and verbal-are top-notch, and you can interact confidently with individuals at all levels.
  • You're eager to learn new tools and technologies that enhance team support, increase efficiency, and streamline workflows.
  • You're a team player who collaborates well with others, yet you're equally comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your responsibilities.


Location Note: This role requires on-site presence in our Bellevue, WA office 3-5 days per month, depending on meetings and events. Preference will be given to candidates based in the local area, as relocation is not supported for this position.
