THE HIGH LEVEL

This eight-week internship program located in Fairfax, VA or Herndon, VA is designed to provide you with education, experience, and exposure to IT Support. We're seeking students who are passionate about innovation and technology, bring positive energy, and are committed to growth and success.

As an intern, you will work directly with our field services team to understand how we provide end user technical support to the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA). Additionally, you will support our field services team with specific program and project work, while receiving training and mentorship to enhance your skills.

At the end of the program, there will be potential opportunities for a full-time offer or a return offer for another program.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING



  • Receive pertinent training, mentorship and participate in professional development activities that will add value to your skill set
  • Contribute to solving mission-critical technical challenges and provide innovative solutions that align with customer needs


  • Provide comprehensive and timely resolution of all end user technical issues
  • Installs, maintains and repairs for products such as equipment, integrated systems, and software
  • Break/fix software & hardware support such as OEM-certified warranty repairs
  • Troubleshoot issues involving applications on and off premise (e.g. cloud)
  • Provide IT support remotely via remote administration tools or desk side
  • Onsite support for incidents, service requests and changes as needed (IMAC, break/fix)
  • Provide end user device configuration
  • Imaging of Commonwealth devices
  • Execute application installations, patch and driver update testing and distribution


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE



  • Student with 30 or more credits currently enrolled in IT Technical Support, C.S.C or relevant IT related courses
  • You have a real passion for technology, creative thinker and problem solver
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • A self-starter who can meet deadlines, work with a sense of urgency, multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail and time management skills are essential to ensure accuracy
  • A valid Virginia driver's license AND reliable transportation is required
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and Commonwealth Agency-specific clearance (requirements vary)
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 30lbs

Must be willing to be onsite 2 days a week
