What you will do: The Johnson Controls Suppression Team is responsible for selling, installing, maintaining, and repairing portable fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and special hazard fire suppression systems. This team does not typically work on fire sprinkler or fire alarm systems, but often works alongside those teams to provide comprehensive life safety services to customers. The Suppression product line is present in more businesses than any other fire protection discipline, and as such this team reaches more customers and plays a bigger role in driving our leadership in all we do. The qualified candidate will run a route servicing existing fire extinguisher and emergency light accounts, in addition to service and installation of pre-engineered and engineered special hazard fire suppression systems. Fire systems included in this definition protect kitchen hoods, automotive paint spray booths, data centers, fueling depots, heavy equipment (mining, manufacturing), power generation, etc. Up sell those customers needing products and services to meet compliance with current fire codes. Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria. Complete all necessary paperwork as needed and meet deadlines set for paperwork to be turned into the district. Maintain your weekly, monthly, and annual quota as set forth by the Manager. Comply with all customer service obligations as set forth by the manager and all company policies as set forth by the department, district, and Johnson Controls. Perform all other duties as set forth by the Manager. This may include but is not limited to assisting other districts, shop, installation, and marine work. How you will do it Strong sales skills to aid in upselling customers and adding new customers to their territory. Manage a route servicing existing and new customers' fire protection equipment and work on flexible hours when necessary. This includes scheduling with customers and/or AHJs, maintaining stock of materials as needed, and completing professional paperwork as required. What we look for Required: Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational and communication skills. Strong mechanical aptitude, and ability to work with their hands, work safely from a ladder. Technology skills, including intermediate expertise using email, Excel, and Smart Phone apps. Be able to pass a background and drug screening and obtain security clearances as required. Possess a valid drivers' license with a clean driving record. High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Skilled trade experience and/or education a plus. (Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical skills sets are all helpful in this line of work.) |
