JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Animal Diagnostic Lab at The Pennsylvania State University is searching for a skilled Research Technologist to serve in the bacteriology section of a veterinary diagnostic lab whose purpose is to protect animal health, human health, and ensure food safety. Key responsibilities:
This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. Required qualifications: This position will be filled at the level of Professional or Intermediate Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. Minimum qualifications for the professional level include a bachelor's degree, previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline and/or a Medical Technologist Certification. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. Preferred experience and skills: Previous clinical laboratory experience, computer data entry proficiency, and farm, agribusiness, and/or veterinary medical background are highly desirable.
