SUMMARY:

Directs and coordinates activities and personnel of the Flight Operations department in acquiring aerial imagery, ensuring production and quality standards are met by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel. Performs production work in these areas as required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES



  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Flight Acquisition department.
  2. Review flight planning orders, data types, quantities, and specifications to determine and maintain appropriate staffing levels for acquisition through department staff.
  3. Reviews flight plans and identifies any risks.
  4. Manages department expenses and labor costs and approves overtime while staying within budget.
  5. Manages workflow needs and develops and maintains department schedules to meet required service levels and to meet all project schedule requirements.
  6. Maintains acquisition production systems, software systems, and identifies enhancement opportunities and maintenance requirements.
  7. Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors, internal IT departments, internal clients, and external clients as appropriate.
  8. Supervises assigned team(s) including training and performance management.
  9. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and ensure technicians and pilots adhere to internal and external compliance standards.
  10. Supports technology analysis and identifies new technology to enhance production processes, lower costs, and improve product delivery.
  11. Reviews production reports and delivers reports to management as required.
  12. Ensures business practices remain current best practices and develops and maintains documentation of departmental processes.
  13. Supports proposals and sales.
  14. Provides support and collaboration with other production departments and provides support to other internal staff as needed.
  15. Supports proposal preparation
  16. Oversees ground survey operation, personnel, and equipment
  17. Oversees mobile ground data collection, personnel and equipment.
  18. Other Duties as assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the acquisition production staff to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in logistics, aviation, computer science, mathematics, or engineering field or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Must have aviation flight or flight management experience.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of five years' experience in acquisition-related management (aircraft, personnel, sensors) is required. Must have the ability to manage a group of technical non-exempt and exempt employees, maintaining a high degree of motivation and focus within the department. Must be detail oriented, ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a changing environment. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication leadership and motivational skills with a strong commitment to quality required.

Salary Range: 110k - 140k annually

In-Office position daily Colorado Springs, CO
