At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our team Engineering & Nuclear Safety organization is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide support in the following areas:
* Providing administrative and technical direction of activities within the engineering discipline. * Reviewing designs and drawings for compliance with applicable codes and standards. * Demonstrating creativity, adaptive thinking and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and/or solving complex or novel engineering problems. * Developing schedule and cost estimates as required and manage as assigned. * Developing, reviewing and revising maintenance procedures. * Generating designs. * Monitoring field activities to ensure compliance with the engineered designs associated with mechanical installations. * Authoring technical evaluations of equipment and facilities as requested. * Assisting in resolution of field installation issues, providing input to construction field changes and supporting acceptance test. * Developing a knowledge of proficiency in CPCCo's engineering policies, practices and procedures and ensure all work is performed in compliance with engineering procedures. * Maintaining a spare parts inventory.
Basic Qualifications
* Career Level Grade 16: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
* Senior Level Grade 17: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 4 or more years of relevant experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience supporting nuclear/radiological facilities.
* Broad knowledge of mechanical systems.
* Experience with DOE Nuclear Safety requirements.
* Experience as Design Authority/System Engineer for operating nuclear facility.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
* Intermediate Level Grade 16: $88,200- $111,100.
* Intermediate Level Grade 17: $96,938 - $122,113.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
