Job Description
Description 4th Floor Oncology specializes in caring for adult patients primarily admitted with oncology and hematology diagnoses, focusing on managing symptoms or complications related to cancer or blood disorders. In addition, the unit manages general medical overflow patients, particularly those with end-stage renal disease who require peritoneal dialysis. Bedside nurses on this floor receive specialized training in peritoneal dialysis, ensuring comprehensive, high-quality care for all patients. The team seeks members who are patient, kind, and compassionate, with strong communication skills, especially in active listening. Ideal candidates will demonstrate critical thinking abilities, effective time management, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Summary: The Nursing Assistant I performs basic nursing skills, personal care activities, and other tasks as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN/LPN as defined by the NC Board of Nursing.Responsibilities: Other information: Education *Completion of state approved Level I Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or its equivalent. * High School Diploma or equivalent required, any higher education from an accredited college will supersede this requirement. Licensure *Current Listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I registry. *Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Experience At least one year in a health care setting preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities *Ability to provide excellent patient and customer care to all patients and their visitors as well as internal and external teammates. *Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively. *Able to learn new software rapidly.
