JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is open for a candidate to help conduct research on factors influencing student retention and graduation rates in higher education institutions, under the supervision of a faculty member in the Department of Education Policy Studies and the Center for the Study of Higher Education in the College of Education.

Successful applicants must have familiarity and experience with post secondary institutions both domestically and abroad, including institutional finances and student level issues. The research responsibilities include a focus on financial stress and its impact on student retention and graduation rates and the relationship between institutional expenditure structures and student retention.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Higher Education, Education Policy, Economics, Sociology, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in quantitative research methods and statistical modeling, including proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, Mplus, or R. Familiarity with quantitative analysis of educational data is highly desirable. Responsibilities will include database preparation and management, statistical analyses, manuscript preparation, and developing policy recommendations based on research findings.

This position is unpaid for a one-year period beginning May 15, 2025 with the possibility of a one-year renewal; therefore, applicants must have secured external funding for their postdoctoral fellowship.
