This role will focus on driving key business activities, including ownership of electronic IT systems and processes, as well as leading quality and compliance efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving productivity and capability across the organization while overseeing the delivery of core projects and business operations. Additionally, they will support ongoing performance in packing operations and logistics, identify new opportunities for continuous improvement, and represent the Zebulon R&D team in external groups. The position will also involve business remediation activities to ensure seamless operations and strategic alignment.

  • Take an active interest in and understand the importance of relevant business drivers that contribute towards the CSC Packaging Operations and Logistics Strategy.
  • Ownership and power user of key electronic systems including but not limited to electronic logbooks, electronic batch records, PMD, time and activity tracker, Leankit, and Veeva.
  • Manage and lead ongoing projects and actively identify continuous improvement projects.
  • Author deviations, change controls, risk assessments, CAPAs, and SOPs within the QMS system.
  • Perform management monitoring, periodic reviews, impact assessments, data integrity checks, validation, sampling plans, audit readiness, and other quality activities to support operations.
  • Mentor and train operation staff and act as the Training Coordinator SME. Ensure curricula, myLearning, Training Materials, myGadget and related training information are up to date.
  • Oversee key portfolio projects in packaging and logistics.
  • Track and trend operational and quality metrics and KPIs within the team.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the packing and logistics operation to support various activities.
  • Support technical transfer for new products and/ or processes including participating in global teams.
  • Participation in project management community of practice.
  • Investigate and understand synergies across GSK and other industries/companies.
  • Take a leading role in the successful progression of the CSC Packaging Operations and Logistics improvement project portfolio.
  • Accountable and empowered to solve project issues as they arise and escalate as appropriate to leadership.
  • Maintain strong relationship and work on global alignment initiatives with the Harlow site. Ensure a collaborative atmosphere with Harlow team member.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific/STEM related field
  • Experience working with large IT systems and defining settings, ways of working and training others on these systems
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data analytics, and cost justification
  • Experience applying Lean Six Sigma (OE) tools in a business environment
  • Experience leading global projects with electronic systems or continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Working knowledge of the R&D Tech Project Management Process, R&D Tech organization and roles, and a basic understanding of systems architecture and technical terms.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or supply acquired via working in a key business function role
  • An understanding of customer driven business drivers and business finances.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to independently take on new challenges, working with key contacts, determining a course of action, and executing necessary tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and reach challenging goals, high standards of performance and ability to resolve difficulties.
  • Experience collaborating with others to define and achieve team goals and objectives
