*Description:* The Patient Access Supervisor provides daily support, mentoring, and training to new hires and existing Patient Access staff, assisting in managing escalated issues as needed. This role involves assisting in both short and long-range planning for all Registration Process areas, including Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department, and clinics.
Maintaining positive customer service at all times, the supervisor helps staff resolve issues and enforces departmental policies, practices, procedures, and work rules in accordance with approved department and hospital policies. Additionally, the supervisor assists in the development and implementation of new policies according to hospital and corporate guidelines. Responsibilities include monitoring daily activity, completing performance and metric reports such as financial clearance reports, and performing special projects and reporting as assigned. The supervisor performs all Patient Access functions as needed and acts as part of the management team to ensure operational goals are met. *Top skills to have:* * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills * Demonstrated leadership abilities * Thorough knowledge of computer systems in Health Care Information System * Clear understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and Regulatory Agencies * Ability to communicate detailed information orally and in writing *Experience we're looking for:* * 4+ years in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area * 5+ years in Patient Access preferred * 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred *Work Environment:* The work environment is in the Hospital, ER area, which is fast-paced and does not involve patient contact. The culture is "All Hands on Deck," with everyone cross-trained, and supervisors registering patients as much as representatives. The team is short-staffed and currently working all shifts, requiring flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. ER leaders take turns working late shifts to ensure coverage and take calls for all Emergency Departments every third week. Supervisors are eligible for a monthly bonuses. Hospital experience is essential, as the team stresses the importance of managing a 24/7 team and being flexible 24/7. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $19.03 - $23.79/hr.
