Overview

To provide administrative and clinical leadership. To plan, coordinate, and manage personnel and resources in order to provide the highest quality of patient care with trained, professional, and competent staff. To collaborate with physicians and other health care disciplines to assure optimal patient outcomes within the organization. Provides oversight to the Nursing Office - Clinical Coordinators & Bed Placement Nurses, Clinical Resource Unit, Admit/Discharge Nurses and Centralized Staffing Office.
Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
  • National Nursing Certification within 3 years
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Nursing

Work Experience:

  • Clinical - 10 years (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor productivity, operating reports, and benchmark data
  • Ensure that staffing requirements are planned, appropriate, and consistent.
  • Participate in budget planning
  • Collaboration with the department director
  • Accomplish work goals of the nursing department(s).
  • Facilitate coordination of department services with other nursing and ancillary departments.
  • Coordinate the associate selection process.
  • Monitor associate turnover and vacancy.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides programs
  • Supports staff knowledge and improve clinical performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory/accrediting bodies and agencies.
  • Analyze and use benchmark data from internal and external sources
  • Identifies opportunities for quality and cost containment improvements
  • Involve associates in the development of new processes as appropriate.
  • Support staff participation of quality improvement activities through established systems and through advisory councils and clinical quality committees.
  • Assist and support staff in developing and maintaining competency through orientation, internships, educational offerings, workshops, interdisciplinary professional meetings and self-directed learning.
  • Maintain and analyze data
  • Ensure that staff development activities offered is of high quality and meets the need of staff.
  • Assist and support Emergency Management.
  • Knowledgeable in EMTALA.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $46.63per hour - $80.2per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
