The Converting Production Manager holds one of the most critical leadership positions within the Automated Mailing and Bagging (AM&B) division, overseeing a team of 120+ employees and 3 supervisors in a dynamic 350+ employee facility. This strategic role is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Converting production area, ensuring alignment with the company's safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement goals.

As a hands-on leader, the Converting Production Manager supports, coaches, and directs team members to drive operational excellence. This role plays a vital part in shaping a safe and efficient work environment through proactive safety practices, employee training, and performance management. With a focus on fostering a culture of accountability and growth, the manager implements and enforces operating procedures that promote high standards and sustainable results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Incorporates vision and values into day-to-day activities
  • Drive safety improvements and enhancements to champion safety culture
  • Attract, hire, retain, develop and mentor key talent within the department.
  • Formulate and recommend converting policies and programs that allow the organization to meet annual budgetary plan for Poly Converting and the profitability of the operations
  • Support Human Resources with active employee administration while establishing a coaching culture.
  • Monitor employees' performance, conduct performance reviews, motivate team members and create strategies to boost engagement, retention and productivity
  • Work cooperatively with all departments to ensure company expectations are met
  • Lead successful implementation of continuous improvement projects

    • Improve product quality and reduction of process scrap
    • Improve plant productivity through enhanced operating processes and workflow


  • Work with Production Control (PC) to ensure the production schedule is properly planned and customer expectations are met



Education and/or Experience



  • BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration, 2-year technical degree in related disciplines or equivalent industry experience in converting.
  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or packaging related industry.
  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes and principles is preferred.
  • Familiar with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and customer service skills, computer literate and the ability to learn new software programs are required.
