Job Description

Led by Visa's Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa's global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa's data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data, Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world.

This position will support the Director, Data Strategy & Strategic Planning in the Global Data Office. Responsibilities include defining the Data & AI Strategy narrative, aligning group narrative with overall corporate strategy and providing an input into our communications and product marketing strategy. The role will also take on strategic projects focused on corporate development, communications, product strategy and market insights.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership

  • Contribute to a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with Visa's overall corporate strategy and goals.

  • Craft, refine, and socialize both external and internal narratives on Visa's Data and AI strategy, ensuring clarity and consistency.

  • Collaborate with the other GDO teams and many cross-functional partners to set priorities, use metrics to track progress, and drive strategic initiatives.

Product Strategy

  • Partner with product managers and provide input into the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with data strategy and business objectives.

  • Regularly assess our priorities and resource allocation against corporate strategy goals, working with partners in our peer organizations.

  • Collaborate with the team's leadership and communication partners to harmonize messages, product stories, and case studies.

Market Insights and Analysis

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges related to data strategy and AI.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

Project and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and manage strategic cross-functional projects. Ensure successful execution of data-related priorities.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks.

  • Work closely with product teams, technology organization, and regional teams to ensure integration of data-related efforts.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive data strategy and initiatives.

Team Development

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and solutions.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

*8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least

5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or

2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

*9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or

more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters,

MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

*Proven experience in leading high-impact, complex projects and driving data

strategy and communication within a global organization.

*Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams, including product,

marketing and communications.

*Experience in the payments industry or financial services is a plus.

*Understanding of data strategy, data governance, and data management

practices.

*Proven communication and product marketing skills.

*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex

data and analytics.

*Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of

and stakeholders at all levels.

*Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.

*Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic

environment.

*Proficiency in data analytics tools and software.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 149,900 to 217,500 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
