The Department of Philosophy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick) is pleased to invite applications for a faculty appointment to begin September 1, 2025.

Ph.D. in Philosophy and a strong record of distinguished teaching and scholarly publication required. We seek candidates suitable for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher with a specialization in Moral Psychology and Metaethics.

Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Philosophy and a strong record of teaching and scholarly publication required. We seek candidates suitable for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher with a specialization in Moral Psychology and Metaethics.

The successful candidates will be expected to play an active role in the Department and University, including the regular teaching of both undergraduate and graduate students, specializing in Moral Psychology and Metaethics.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
