JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Nittany AI Alliance is seeking two exceptional employees for a one-year appointment designed to empower the next generation of AI leaders. This opportunity is ideal for top-performing recent graduates who have earned a bachelor's degree and demonstrated remarkable engagement, leadership, and technical skills - particularly through active participation in Nittany AI Alliance programs.

As a Nittany AI Application Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students participating in both the Nittany AI Challenge and Advance programs. You'll leverage your firsthand experience to mentor teams, enhance project-based learning outcomes, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across the Alliance's initiatives. AI Application Specialists will also have the unique opportunity to pursue a master's degree during their appointment, blending academic advancement with real-world impact. This opportunity offers a transformative experience at the intersection of applied AI, education, and community engagement-ideal for those ready to give back while accelerating their own professional and academic journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentorship and Student Engagement - Mentor and support students in the Nittany AI Challenge and Advance programs, offering guidance on project development, team collaboration, and use of AI tools.

  • Workshop Facilitation - Plan and lead skill-building workshops, ideation sessions, and team-building activities that promote student success and align with Nittany AI program goals.

  • Program Development - Collaborate with program managers to enhance learning experiences, refine workflows, and implement feedback loops that support continuous program improvement.

  • Hackathon and Event Leadership - Represent the Nittany AI Alliance at major student events such as HackPSU, including leading sessions and coordinating participation with student organizations.

  • Team and Stakeholder Collaboration - Serve as a liaison between students, faculty advisors, subject matter experts, and industry coaches to foster a vibrant and inclusive AI learning community.

  • Program Impact and Reporting - Support tracking of workshop attendance, program milestones, and student outcomes. Assist in reporting fellowship impact to stakeholders and donors.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience

  • A demonstrated record of success in Nittany AI Alliance programs

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills

  • Passion for project-based learning, mentorship, and applied AI

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
