Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including network-attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SAN), email and collaboration systems, file and print servers, and mission-critical application servers at Fort Bragg. This is a full-time position.



Responsibilities

    Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers, web servers, and database servers.
  • Perform software installations, patches, and upgrades to operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Monitor and tune systems to maintain peak performance, stability, and security.
  • Maintain workstation/server data integrity by evaluating and implementing software/hardware solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT configuration database and support documentation.
  • Manage and maintain NAS and SAN environments.
  • Implement backup, replication, and DR strategies to ensure data resilience.
  • Optimize file storage, user permissions, and access control policies in accordance with Army security requirements.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Exchange Mail Servers, ensuring compliance with Army IT regulations.
  • Perform local email host administration, including mailbox creation, user permissions, and email security.
  • Ensure all PCs have up-to-date antivirus protection and email security configurations.
  • Maintain collaboration systems, including SharePoint, Teams, and other enterprise communication platforms.
  • Implement security patches, system hardening, and compliance measures following Army RMF and DISA STIG guidelines.
  • Monitor and remediate server vulnerabilities, intrusion attempts, and system health alerts.
  • Provide training to IT support personnel on system administration best practices and security protocols.


Qualifications

3+ years experience in system administration of network storage, email servers, collaboration tools, and mission-critical IT services. Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with IAT Level II). Must be MCA 365: Teamwork Administrator certified or able to obtain within six months of hire. Additional work-related certifications preferred including: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server Administrator. Expertise in server installation, configuration, and maintenance, including web, file, print, and application servers. Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and email host administration. Able to schedule and manage OS/software installations, security updates, and performance tuning. Proficient in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise IT environments. Experience working in DoD or Army IT environments, ensuring compliance with federal IT policies. Familiar with ITSM tools, system monitoring platforms, and remote administration. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
