Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator to manage and maintain the Joint Training and Experimentation Network (JTEN) infrastructure at Fort Bragg. This is a full-time position.



Responsibilities

    Establish and maintain connectivity for the Joint Training and Experimentation Network (JTEN).
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network switches, routers, and access points to support classified/unclassified JTEN operations.
  • Provide daily O&M to sustain LAN/WAN connectivity and mission-critical network performance.
  • Maintain network architecture, VLAN segmentation, firewall configurations, and security protocols.
  • Support interoperability between JTEN and other Army network environments, ensuring seamless data exchange and communications.
  • Enforce DoD and Army cybersecurity policies.
  • Apply and maintain DISA STIG configurations for all network devices.
  • Ensure compliance with RMF processes and Army IAVM patching requirements.
  • Support ACAS, HBSS, and endpoint security implementations.
  • Perform network penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and risk mitigation in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
  • Diagnose network connectivity issues, security vulnerabilities, and bandwidth limitations.
  • Conduct network performance tuning and optimization using network monitoring tools.
  • Implement network redundancy, failover solutions, and load balancing strategies for JTEN reliability.
  • Support network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and firmware/software updates to maintain secure and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and access control measures in accordance with Army NEC service standards.
  • Maintain detailed network topology maps, configuration logs, and change management records.
  • Assist in network audits, security inspections, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide training to local users and network administrators on JTEN operations, cybersecurity best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ensure users comply with Army network access control policies and operational security measures.


Qualifications

3+ years experience in a network administration and management in a multi-platform enterprise environment. Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with IAT Level II). Must hold a Cisco certification (e.g. CCNA) or be able to obtain within six months of start date. Experience leading teams in network hardware/software installation and LAN/WAN operations. Proficient in network troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and cybersecurity best practices. Familiar with network security enforcement, compliance, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Able to support users through training and operational guidance on network usage and troubleshooting. Experience with DoD IT environments and network security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and DISA STIG compliance. Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper network devices in a large-scale enterprise setting. Extensive knowledge of multi-protocol network communications, hardware/software integration, and network management tools. Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
