Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000
The AFC KYC Testing Unit (KYCTU) is a subunit within Apple Bank's (the Bank) AFC Department. The KYCTU is a second line function that acts as a primary subject matter expert (SME) concerning KYC review/testing of select client information to include CIP, select CDD information, and select key internal components for Apple Bank's consumer banking and commercial banking customers. The Senior AFC KYC Testing Analyst will ensure that all client onboarding documentation is complete, accurate, and consistent with the Bank's customer onboarding procedures.
Specifically, the Senior AFC KYC Testing Analyst reviews complex KYC profiles based on the onboarding documentation and information obtained from the business where the accounts were opened and interacts with senior department leadership, as well as Legal and Operations, to ensure all regulatory and firm requirements are met for new accounts. This individual in this role should be able to understand any account type that is opened within the deposit account framework and independently execute a review.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior AFC KYC Testing Analyst will:
- Stay abreast and apply appropriate testing of key AFC applicable regulatory requirements relative to CIP, CDD, beneficial ownership, across the organization.
- Review account documentation submitted for multiple types of business and consumer accounts.
- Ensure that account opening activities consistently adhere to requirements.
- Communicate necessary documentation changes to branches and follow through proactively to ensure requested documents/changes have been submitted.
- Work with KYC Team Lead on requests for extensions and keep Team Lead apprised of all outstanding issues.
- Maintain accurate and complete files for all reviewed client documentation.
- Generate reports based on requests for data and provide relevant metrics to the Team Leader of the KYC Unit
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior AFC KYC Testing Analyst will also:
- Ability to immediately identify and escalate BSA/AML risks.
- Proactively identify potential efficiency gains in our end-to-end process.
- Participate in committee meetings, as necessary.
- Perform ad hoc project support, as necessary.
- Support the AFC KYC Team Lead and serve as a backup for when he/she is out.
- Serve as an escalation point for more junior members of the team and assist as needed.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in banking compliance, with a strong emphasis on BSA/AML regulations and requirements.
- Minimum 3 years of experience reviewing and completing full KYC files.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing client files and must be able to complete the review on an independent basis, as well as possess skillset to determine if there are any suspicious elements to the client and/or documentation.
- A solid understanding of KYC best practices and industry standards.
- Experience utilizing MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills to properly assess any red flags that may be discovered during the review process.
- Excellent time management skills with strong focus on attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively in a team-fostered, multi-tasking environment.
- The ability to collaborate with other departments and groups in working together towards issue resolution.
- Professional certification (i.e. CAMS) a plus.
