This position is for a Direct Marketing Specialist in the Marketing department at State Farm, aligned to the Direct Marketing Planning and Execution team in the Performance Marketing Execution function.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact projects in the Direct Marketing space, including campaign planning, creative strategy, and process solutions involving Marketing, external vendors, and stakeholders.
- Utilize tools and processes to support all facets of campaign development, including setup, testing, building, implementation, and performance monitoring.
- Optimize campaign planning and execution to align with departmental goals.
- Expertly utilize tactics such as direct mail, email, texting, and notifications.
- Engage effectively with both internal and external partners.
- Drive continuous innovation to achieve goals and outpace competitors.
- Conduct competitor analysis using research from agencies, making informed adjustments to our strategies.
- Contribute to planning, creative development, execution, measurement, and optimization across all direct channels.
- Optimize performance and tactics to maximize budgets and objectives.
- Communicate project development, timelines, and results to team and management.
- Develop assignment briefs for business partners and creative/media agencies.
- Ensure in-market execution aligns with strategy.
- Develop metrics to evaluate the impact of campaign technology across the department.
- Proactively identify opportunities to increase efficiency and consistency within work processes.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Work under general direction on assignments of greater complexity and coordination.
- Leverage knowledge of industry trends, company issues, competitive environment, and specific business needs to lead, manage, and complete assignments.
- Mentor, coach, and serve as a resource to other analysts within the department.
- Consistently deliver thorough and complete work products on a timely basis.
- Contribute to and occasionally lead strategic initiatives.
- Exercise judgment and make decisions to diagnose and resolve complex problems and issues.
- Gather and analyze data to ensure sound business decisions and propose action plans for resolution.
- Advocate for continuous improvement initiatives.

- Responsible for the handling and maintenance of confidential and highly sensitive information
- Involvement in company approved educational programs as applicable for continued development
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Marketing degree or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in direct marketing, planning and execution
- Experience in working with external vendors
- Proficient in project management and driving out timelines
- Experience in coordinating outcomes across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Experience in producing completed staff work, including business recommendations, executive summaries, and project documentation
- Eagerness to learn and achieve personal growth

- Potential starting salary range: $78,081.25 - $99,540.63
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
