Job Purpose
The Program Manager II is responsible for managing programs with achieving financial, delivery, and customer satisfaction objectives. This role will support both production and design and development programs with an emphasis on both short-term and long-term strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute and monitor program activities.
- Regularly present program updates/status to high-level executives both internal and external to the organization.
- Manage changes to scope, cost, and schedule of program work.
- Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple programs.
- Prepare and update program plans and status reports.
- Provide updates on customer and corporate issues.
- Participate in strategic business meetings to balance requirements across multiple customers.
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings of personnel related to assigned project.
- Cultivate a team-based culture leading to effective integrated product teams.
- Facilitate sessions to resolve issues as they arise.
- Utilize corporate processes to track project schedules, cost, and risk.
- Report status, develop project-related documentation, and implement lessons learned.
- Participate in project performance reviews and discussions.
- Participate in corporate business development activities.
- Update and maintain production and quality metrics of programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business or closely related discipline, or equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge acquired through experience and/or other training.
- At least 5 years of experience in Engineering, Project Management, Government Contract Administration or related experience.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English and be comfortable presenting to audiences up to 20 people both virtually and in person.
- Comfortable with general accounting principles and earned value management.
- Able to examine requirements and understand the underlying request as it relates to the project. Experienced in mediation of conflict and finding win-win solution spaces for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experienced and comfortable with M.S. Office and Project applications.
- PMP (preferred)
