Mott MacDonald is seeking a highly experienced Principal Market Leader within the CEI industry for our Raleigh, NC office. This role will develop the CEI team within the North Carolina region by owning and delivering top work.

Responsibilities include:

• 
  

  Build our presence in the CEI market by identifying new opportunities, building professional relationships, and acting as an extension of our client's teams.

  
  

• 
  

  Reading, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contracts

  
  

• 
  

  Provide direction, mentorship and guidance to account leaders, technical, operational and junior members of staff in best practices, business development, proposal development and project delivery.

  
  

• 
  

  Compute quantities for items such as concrete, asphalt, steel, earthwork, drainage structures, and traffic control devices

  
  

• 
  

  Operate company vehicle, computer, and testing equipment

  
  

• 
  

  Coordinate construction progress and issues with engineers, contractors, utilities, and government officials

  
  

• 
  

  Document field changes and as-built plans

  
  

• 
  

  Work proactively with the internal Mott MacDonald team to bring the right resources to win and deliver projects to the client's satisfaction.

  
  

• 
  

  Work in an office or outdoor environment in varying weather conditions as required by the project type.

  
  

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

• 
  

  A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related.

  
  

• 
  

  Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in North Carolina

  
  

• 
  

  20+ years experience in construction management of civil highway and bridge projects

  
  

• 
  

  Preferable experience with NCDOT projects; working knowledge of the construction and administrative procedures and programs

  
  

• 
  

  It is preferred that the candidate holds the following certifications as required by the scope of work for the project:

  
  

• 
  

  NCDOT Concrete Field Technician

  
  

• 
  

  ACI Concrete Field Level I

  
  

• 
  

  NCDOT Erosion and Sediment Control Level I & II

  
  

• 
  

  NCDOT QMS Roadway

  
  

• 
  

  NCDOT Conventional Density

  
  

• 
  

  NCDOT ABC and Borrow Pit Sampling certification

  
  

• 
  

  NCDOT Advanced Work Zone Safety (or Equivalent)

  
  

• 
  

  OSHA 10-hour Construction Program

  
  

• 
  

  Candidates who do not hold the above certifications will be considered based on their ability to obtain the necessary certifications.

  
  

• 
  

  Must have a valid driver's license.

  
  

• 
  

  This position may require the ability to lift 50 lbs.
