Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

Location: Owensboro, KY

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Monday through Friday, On call as necessary

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team at our food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and minimal production downtime. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and food processing systems, as well as leadership in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance technicians, contractors, and other support staff.
  • Ensure equipment, machinery, and facility systems (HVAC, refrigeration, utilities, etc.) are maintained to meet safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures or production issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is up to date.
  • Assist in planning and execution of capital projects and equipment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, OSHA, FDA, and all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Manage maintenance inventory, tools, and parts to support efficient repair work.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff to foster technical growth and safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and sanitation departments to meet company goals.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system knowledge.
  • Familiarity with food industry standards, including HACCP, SQF/BRC, and GMPs.
  • Proficient with CMMS and basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if necessary.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in varying temperatures and environments (wet, cold, noisy, etc.).
