Essential Job Duties |
Under the supervision of the NC State Student Centers Assistant Director for Operations and Student Development, the primary purpose of this position is to support, maintain, and facilitate programs and events that take place within the NC State Student Centers with an emphasis on event operations and student development.
This position will assist in training, supervising and scheduling of student event support staff and student leaders. In addition, this position will assist in setup and breakdown of events within the NC State Student Centers, including but not limited to table, chairs, risers, and audiovisual equipment.
This position serves as a point of contact and support for evening and weekend Building Managers, Operations staff, Event staff, Reservations Assistants, and Information Desk Assistants. This position will troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, work with the Assistant Director to determine and implement an equipment upgrade schedule and equipment maintenance schedule of all event-related equipment. |
Other Responsibilities |
- Model the Division's mission and values and foster a positive, cohesive workplace and congeniality among co-workers.
- Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees' work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
- Assist the NC State Student Centers associate director with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors; and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the University.
- Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations.
- Must follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Excellence in completing all tasks and performance goals.
- Ability to use or learn to use email and use a PC and MS Office Suite (or similar) proficiently.
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, supervisors, subordinates, and peers.
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate an ability to work under stress and complete complex work assignments and projects.
- Possess superb organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience in student development, student affairs, or other student-related field in a college or university setting.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

- Valid Driver's License required. State vehicle furnished to drive to events or other Campus Enterprises locations.
