PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Party Chief is responsible for the overall management of the survey crew, works under the direction of the Project Manager and Project Coordinator, serves as client liaison, is responsible for the safety of the crew and equipment, manages computations, and maintains safety standards

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Various types of construction stake out projects.
  • Topographic surveys.
  • Performs mathematical calculations for field checking data.
  • Take accurate and clear notes in the field.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Know basic sources of measurement errors.
  • Know principles of monumentation, staking and marking.
  • Responsible for the quality and performance of survey crew.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all Company equipment.
  • Self-motivated and organized with good decision-making skills.
  • Accurate completion of time and expenses.
  • Responsible for submitting data and notes daily.
  • Responsible for meeting with clients and public landowners as required in a professional manner.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

5 plus years working as a surveyor on a new construction site. Must have 1+ year's supervisory experience. Proficient in managing crew, time, and costs. Must have good leadership and communication skills. Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures. Completed the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training. To obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program. Must Pass a Background Check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
