Afghan Community Lead Peer Support Specialist

Afghan Community Lead Peer Support Specialists will provide supervision, consultation, coordination, and support to a team of Peer Support Specialists serving recently arrived Afghan community members receiving financial wellness coaching, service connection, skills training, and advocacy services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed peer support services. The Lead Peer Support Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations, supports team members' professional development, and works in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that services align with program goals and community needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Afghan Community Lead Peer Support Specialist: 65,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Afghan Community Lead Peer Support Specialist Responsibilities Include:

* Provide supervision, consultation, and mentoring to Peer Support Specialists delivering a range of comprehensive services to Afghan refugee program participants.

* Monitor caseloads, documentation, and service delivery to ensure consistency, accountability, and compliance.

* Provide advocacy and engagement with and on behalf of Afghan community members to community partners, local non-profit agencies, employers and social adjustment entities.

* Support professional development and foster a culture of collaboration by offering individual and group supervision to Peer Support Specialists.

* Assist with program management tasks such as onboarding and training of new hires, program planning, and program evaluation.

* Participate in improvement efforts by identifying gaps in service delivery and offering possible solutions.

* Ensure that services are culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate, and trauma informed.

* Serve as a representative of the Peer Support Team and liaison between Peer Support Specialists, other multi-disciplinary team members and community partners.

Afghan Community Lead Peer Support Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

* Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public health, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Minimum of 3 years' experience in refugee resettlement, social services, or peer support.

* Minimum of 1 year experience supervising or leading a team of more than 5 staff members.

* Previous experience with refugee resettlement and/or humanitarian parole processes.

* social work, counseling, or

* Bilingual or Multilingual: (Pashto and/or Dari) communication skills are preferred.

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means.

* Proficient in basic math skills, as required to assist clients in their financial wellness activities and classes.

* Ability to present a positive demeanor to individuals, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, and the general public.

* Ability to travel between various local working locations

* Ability to remain calm during difficult circumstances and emergencies.

* Advanced knowledge of social adjustment services.

* Proficient in utilizing Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* Must pass pre-employment requirements of Cherokee Federal.
