What You'll Do:

This position is responsible for supporting the accounting and payment functions of the Credit Union. The Payment Specialist performs work surrounding payment transactions such as ACH, wire transfers, ATMs, checks, instant payments and other money move product. Additional responsibilities include reconciliation of settlements received through the Federal Reserve and other payment processor as well as preparation of journal entry vouchers for posting. A passionate detail-oriented individual who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision is at the core of the Payment Specialist.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for Payments product, through multiple processors including but not limited to: ACH Receive, ACH Origination (Electronic Funds Transfer & External transfer), Share Draft, Credit Union issued check (Official and Money Order), Incoming Wires, Outgoing Wire, ATM, LGE Check Receive, LGE Loan Payment, Shared Branching, Zelle, Other future instant payment rails
  • Repair exception items, prepare returns, and balance files for reconcilement. ACH daily exception report via our core, Snap Deposit reject item - Tranzact, Merchant Capture, Business ACH originations, Member & LGE Share Drafts
  • Responsible for investigating, processing, and posting transaction for incoming returns/adjustments to our member's account: LGE Epayment, Check Deposit Returns, Draft Late Return, ATM, Shared Branch Adjustments, ACH Reclamation
  • Responsible for investigating, processing, and posting transaction member disputes in accordance with Reg E * ATM - Error Resolution * Zelle - Zelle Dispute * ACH - Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit
  • Responsible for submitting adjustments/returns request to our current payment processors. ATM via VROL, Zelle via Tranzact for credit, Zelle dispute via CST, ACH via Fedline Advantage, LGE Epayment via Orbipay ,ACH via Fedline Advantage, Share Draft via Tranzact, Check Receive via Tranzact
  • Perform daily review for potential fraud. ATMs and PTMs checks * Zelle CST * Advance Notification Report
  • Process Notification of Change (NOC) and Death Notification Entries (DNE) from the Federal Reserve Bank
  • Responsible for keying, reviewing, and releasing domestic/international outgoing and incoming wires to Federal Reserve through our wire processor.
  • Process Affidavit of Lost, Stolen, or Destroyed Official Checks/Money Orders, and take appropriate action as indicated by the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
  • Assist with Enterprise Risk Management on fraudulent investigations.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned to improve Payment Processing within the Credit Union.
  • Maintain familiarity with and follow all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Regulation J, Reg. CC, Patriot Act, U.S Treasury Green Book, NACHA Operating Rules, Regulation E and Uniform Commercial Code 4A (UCC-4A)

Who you are:

  • Required: High School diploma
  • Required: 2+ yrs experience in a financial institution or business related environment
  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree in business related field
  • Preferred: AAP or NCP Certification
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy of work
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with highly sensitive, complex, and confidential issues and situations
