This role ensures that all financial processes, internal controls, and cost management initiatives align with the resort's strategic goals. The Director of Finance acts as the primary financial partner for operational departments and provides detailed budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support decision-making at the resort level. The Director of Finance reports to the VP of Finance and is responsible for ensuring financial discipline, cost efficiency, and operational financial analysis. WAGE: The base salary range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort's salary range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits. Salary: $130,000 to $145,000 annually ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Operational Financial Execution Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring proper expense management and revenue tracking. Support department heads in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize profitability. Manage financial reporting, cost controls, and variance analysis to drive operational efficiency. Ensure departmental financial accountability by working with line-of-business managers on cost management. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Management Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes with Resort department heads, ensuring alignment with corporate financial strategies. Conduct cost analysis for labor, operational expenses, and department budgets. Identify financial risks and opportunities within resort operations and provide data-driven recommendations. Oversee capital maintenance planning, ensuring projects align with financial and operational priorities. Financial Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with financial policies, corporate controls, and audit requirements. Conduct internal financial audits to assess compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor financial performance through key financial metrics and reporting dashboards. Cash Management WP Resort is Cashless but still have some cash on hand Manage cash on hand, biweekly deposits, check deposits and petty cash. Key Stakeholders & Collaboration The Director of Finance works closely with multiple resort and corporate teams to ensure financial efficiency, including: VP of Finance - Reports directly to the VP of Finance and executes resort financial initiatives. Resort Department Heads (Operations, Lodging, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, etc.) - Provides financial reporting, budgeting support, and cost analysis. Corporate Shared Services Accounting Team - Collaborates on financial reporting, compliance, and accounting functions. Corporate FP&A Team - Works on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. Corporate Development & Capital Planning Team - Supports financial feasibility studies and capital expenditure tracking. HOA Boards & Property Management Teams - Assists in HOA financial reporting and operational budgeting. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. 2+ years of experience in hospitality finance, resort finance, or operational financial management. Strong expertise in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis. Experience working with capital planning, HOA financials, and cash flow management.
