Description
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Assistant will support both the administrative and clinical operations of the lab. Key responsibilities include preparing and managing critical laboratory resources, handling the processing and shipping of biological specimens (including those requiring dry ice), and maintaining a consistent supply of dry ice and liquid nitrogen. The assistant will also be responsible for requesting and organizing lab kits and supplies, disposing of biohazard materials, and managing confidential filing systems and data entry. Regular administrative duties such as preparing correspondence, answering phone calls, and handling faxes, photocopies, and scans of lab documents and manuals are also part of the role. In addition, the Clinical Research Assistant will update research charts and study logs, prepare investigational drug reports, and coordinate the retrieval and transport of study participant records between clinics. The role involves supporting research coordinators by reviewing their schedules, reminding them of upcoming commitments, and assisting with obtaining necessary physician signatures. Other responsibilities include participating in tumor collection and freezing samples in liquid nitrogen, managing oral medication pickups and returns from the pharmacy, supporting sponsor visits and building tours, attending meetings, and performing various other duties as required.
