Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Engineering Intern to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineering Intern position will learn to perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under some direct supervision. The engineering intern position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $18.50- $20/hr DOE



Responsibilities

- Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
- Have the ability to assist in standard and/or routine technical problem-solving activities
- Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
- Learn to provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
- Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing
- Learn to carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
- Utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in testing analysis
- Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions



Skills / Qualifications

- Working knowledge of laboratory safety
- Possess some level of understanding related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline
- On track to possess a Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field
- Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element's business
- Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed
- Possess strong computer skills

- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
- Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction
- Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
- Under the close guidance of Engineers in the laboratory, works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis
- Defined work experience has impact on the day-to-day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support
