Description
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. This position has a varied shift, typically Monday-Friday from 7am/8am to 3pm/4pm; however there are times where the tech comes in for a night shift to do a fire drill/air handler inspection. The Safety Tech - Environmental serves as an internal resource on environmental-safety-related matters. Assists Environmental Safety Officer in the maintenance of systems and programs to assure a comprehensive Workplace Safety and Environment of Care management program as outlined in the standards found within The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory guidelines regarding environmental safety aspects related to healthcare settings within the State of California. Serves as a member of the site Environmental Health & Safety Committee and Emergency Management Committee. Educates staff on safe working practices and safety-related issues. The Safety Technician also serves as the assistant to the Safety Officer. With oversite by the Safety Officer, the Safety Technician's primary functions include scheduling, facilitating, assessing, and documenting Fire Drills, Environmental Tours, and construction related ICRA. #LI-JS1 Qualifications
